The best way to build a better tomorrow is to start a company. A company gives you a chance to become more wealthy then you can ever become while being employed in somebodies else’s company. If you are an employee then you get paid for your time. Your pay is only a part of the income you generate for the company you work for.
If you own your own company then you get to keep all the value you create and you will also be able to earn money from the work that your employees perform. The more employees you have the more you can earn.
Starting a company is the best way to be able to live the American dream and the best way to help your local society. By opening a company you will help Omaha by reducing unemployment and by paying taxes to the government. Taxes that help fund schools, the police, the fire department, parks and numerous other things.
With this in mind, we are going to look at some of the most common excuses that people use to justify why they can not start a company. The truth is that anyone can start a company. Anyone can seize their slice of the American dream.
I do not have the time
I do not have the time to start a business or do the research needed to start a business. This is a very common excuse to not start a business and it is almost never true. Almost everyone has time to start a business and most people who do not have the time to start a business already run a business.
If you do not think you have time to start a business. Ask yourself what you did yesterday? Did you watch TV, did you play computer games, did you gamble online. All of this is time you could use to start a business.
A good idea is to write down everything you do for a week and see how much time you spend on things that are not productive. All this time can be used to start a business. One or two hours a day is enough to get started.
It is often possible to get more time by structuring your life better. How often do you shop? Could you shop more seldom buying more food each time to save time etc?
Everybody can find the time to start a business.
I do not have the money
A lot of people believe that you need a lot of money to start a business. This is a common and prevailing myth. The truth is that some business requires a lot of money to start,. You are going to need tens or even hundreds of millions if you want to start an airline, even more, if you want to start a cruise line but not all businesses require a lot of money. It is possible to start a business for next to nothing. It is possible to start a web business for less than USD 50. It is even possible to do it without spending a single dollar.
Your first company might not earn a lot of money but it will allow you to learn how to run a business and it will allow you to earn money to start a second business that can earn you a lot of money.
Shoe stringing your first (and maybe your second) business will make it a lot easier to be able to find credit to start a new business. You have proven that you can run a company. This will make the banks more willing to borrow you money. The fact that you have proven that you can run a business makes you less of a risk.
I do not have the knowledge
Running a business does not have to be hard and you can learn as you go. Everybody has knowledge that someone else is willing to pay for and everyone can use their knowledge to start a company. Never underestimate yourself. You can start a business. Everyone can start a business.
With this being said. It is always good to know basic business strategies and practices before you start a business. Luckily it is easy to learn. There exists a large number of good books that you can buy (or borrow from your local library) that will teach you everything you need to know. Spend an hour every day reading about how to run a business and you will be ready to start your first business before you know it.
I do not want to risk financial troubles
Many people to do not want to start a business because they do not want to risk putting their family in a financially uncertain situation. They feel that it is safer to stay an employee. This is admirable but not true. A lot of people loses their job every day and you never know when you might lose your job. If you run your own business then you are in charge of your financial feature. There will always be economic opportunities in society. This is true no matter how bad the economy gets. There will always be businesses that thrive, There will always be people who make a lot of money.
I am not suggesting that you quit your job to start a business. This might not be a good idea. But you can start a business that you run at night and during your weekends. You can slowly grow this business until it is large enough for you to be able to safely quit your job and do your business full time.
Do not take unnecessary risks but do not feel discouraged from following your dream.
